Representatives of the “Boets“ association protested in front of the Russian Cultural and Information Center (RKIC) in Sofia. The protest was organized as a sign of solidarity with Alexandra Mileva, BTA reported.
She was detained on Thursday in front of the RKIC, where she set fire to the Russian flag. “Yesterday I came to burn a flag in protest of everything that Russia is doing to Ukraine,”, Alexandra said. She added that she was released from custody hours ago. According to her, it was not explained to her why she was detained.
We are here to express our disagreement with the repression that is being imposed on Bulgarian citizens, Anton Mironov from the “Boets” association told the media.
Other citizens in solidarity with Alexandra and the Ukrainian people joined the protest.
Protesters set fire to the Russian flag and covered the stairs of the Russian Cultural and Information Center with red paint.
There was an increased police presence in front of the building.
