Radev: A stronger role of the state is needed in support of small municipalities - 1

Polish Trumbesh celebrates 60 years since its declaration as a city, and historical sources take us far back in time to the 15th century with the first written sources, as well as the testimonies of a number of generations of Bulgarians who called this fertile region “ my home", preserved and developed traditions, built it with thought and faith for the future.

This was stated by President Rumen Radev in his greeting to the residents and guests of Polski Trumbesh, who are celebrating the town's holiday today, dariknews.bg reported.

The head of state also held a meeting with the management of the municipality.

In his welcome, President Radev noted the rich traditions of the region in the field of agriculture, fertile lands and healing mineral springs. But the most important are the people of Polski Trumbesh - hardworking, talented and hospitable, added the head of state and emphasized the achievements and efforts for the development of culture, education and sports in the city. Today, like many other small settlements in Bulgaria, Polski Trumbesh lives with the trials of everyday life and worries about the quality of education, health care, social services, for well-paid jobs, the head of state said, adding that these aspects are important for the development of young people.

In the words of the president, a stronger role of the state is necessary in supporting small municipalities for the development of infrastructure, adequate measures against depopulation and for dealing with people's problems. Current challenges facing the region and how to deal with them were the topic of conversation at the meeting of the president with the mayor of Polski Trambesh, Georgi Chakarov, and representatives of the local government.
