DPS is torn between politics and corporate interests

I do not expect the conflict in DPS to be resolved by force. There are no political murders in Bulgaria - even Andrey Lukanov was killed for economic reasons, not political ones.

So the political analyst Dimitar Ivanov, former head of the Sixth Department of State Security and current publisher of the newspapers "Russia Today" and "China today", expressed his opinion about the current political situation in Bulgaria in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio.

Ivanov, who is also a lecturer at the University of Library Science and Information Technology, commented on the current events in the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), describing the situation as a "disagreement". According to him, the conflict in the party has a political nature and represents a "clash between the political and corporate line in the party".

"The struggle is for control of the DPS political party, which may then be used as a tool for some other purposes,", Ivanov said. He emphasized the role of Ahmed Dogan as the ideological and political leader of the party, noting that "when it is not clear on whose behalf and for whose benefit a party wants to exercise power, one cannot speak of a party, but of a corporation or circle of interests".

The former publisher of the newspapers "Duma" and "Earth" predicts that in the upcoming elections on October 27, "the main mass of members will stick to the course of DPS as a political party, and not to the course of "DPS-New Beginning" - as a business structure".

Ivanov also expressed his opinion about the oligarchy in Bulgaria, stating that "in Bulgaria there is not one oligarch like the people". He noted the lack of legitimate billionaires and significant investment in manufacturing, while acknowledging the existence of a few exceptions.

Commenting on his previous text in the newspaper "Zemya", entitled "Good words for the poor Hussar", referring to Ivan Geshev, Ivanov admitted: "If we assume that the chief prosecutor Geshev is the 'good Hussar', I was wrong !". He defended Geshev's education, but criticized the current state of the prosecutor's office, saying that "there are good musketeers in the prosecutor's office, but they are not in leadership positions, and that is why it is faltering.

In conclusion, Dimitar Ivanov predicts that after the upcoming seventh early elections, a regular cabinet will be formed, which, however, "will not last long".
