There is still much to be done in education, but the direction is right. Until recently the talk was only about money in education, now it should be quality. If we are in debt somewhere, it is precisely this - the quality of education.
This was stated in the show "More from the day" on BNT, the chairman of the parliamentary group of "Continuing the change - Democratic Bulgaria" and former Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov, who commented on the current political events in the country.
"In the elections, we cannot under any circumstances talk about the survival of the PP-DB. We have already announced that we will work to restore people's trust. Clearly, they were disappointed with the assembly. We made a political sacrifice and formed a regular government at a very difficult time without having a majority. Why didn't Boyko Borisov form a government? I believe that people will understand us because we work for their incomes and freedoms," he announced.
"There is no way for GERB to say - let's not talk about the anti-corruption laws and move on. This number will not go through. There can be no talks when GERB says - this is the government, support it or I am the prime minister, support me. That is not how it is done in democratic societies. The most normal thing is to put policies and priorities on the table and then seek a majority for a cabinet. We have now proposed an approach with a Prime Minister who is cross-party, equally distant from all parties, a proven professional and to be accepted by all parties. All parties may propose a candidate for prime minister. We have ideas for such a cross-party prime minister, but we will not name names, because these people will "burn" without time. This prime minister should accept the important priorities and policies for Bulgaria and then seek a majority by convincing us. At the office "Gabrovski" there was no such thing. They said there - this is the cabinet and the prime minister, vote", Academician Denkov gave an example.
"We do not trust Borisov and we will not trust a person named by Borisov. It is clear there that Delyan Peevski will also appear immediately. We all saw what happened to the previous cabinet. They supposedly supported, yes, they voted for some things in the parliament, but then they spoiled everything. We cannot trust these people. Regarding Ms. Ekaterina Zaharieva, PP-DB has absolutely nothing to do with the report against her. this is a signal from 2017, when he was Minister of Justice. Then came a signal about the illegal sale of passports. She did nothing and the whistleblower was fired. In 2017, PP-DB was not at all on the political scene. There was no way we could pass these three anti-corruption laws in the previous parliament, because GERB did not want to.
Unfortunately, we are often alone in the fight against corruption, but this is a sign to the Bulgarian voters. They must understand that in order to have money in the health budget, entity, roads, there must be anti-corruption laws and anyone who steals must receive the deserved punishment. There has always been a lot of resistance to our proposals. Bulgaria needs those who divert public funds to go to prison. We need support to succeed and we will work to find that support among the people. The policy has no place for insults and the offended. We are looking for support from everyone who will vote on the important laws for Bulgaria. We have no faith in Peevski. He has destroyed everything he has touched. Now he wants to destroy the state. Borisov must distance himself from his dependence on Peevski," Academician Nikolay Dnekov was categorical.
