PP-DB appeals the prosecutor's office's refusal to investigate Peevski - 1

"We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria" appeals the refusal of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SGP) to initiate pre-trial proceedings for the influence of Delyan Peevski on the prosecutor's office, the press center of the coalition announced.

"In July, the PP-DB people's representatives filed a report in connection with statements made by members and the management of the DPS about violating the independence of the Bulgarian prosecutor's office and its use for the execution of political orders by Peevski against them, through coercion, infringement of private property and inviolability of citizens and their families. In this way, although very late, what the PP-DB has been fighting against for years was practically confirmed - the control of the Bulgarian institutions by Peevski and his other political partners.

The signal against the MP sanctioned under Magnitsky included data on crimes committed on duty by magistrates and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the purpose of intimidation, coercion and pressure, property crimes and others.

The SGP practically abdicates its main functions, not even finding a reason to commission an inspection to collect additional information. It is also not clear why the SGP does not require information and explanations from the persons cited in the report, authors of the allegations of unregulated and illegal actions of the institutions.

Based on the complaint of PP-DB “Appellate Prosecutor's Office – Sofia” has the opportunity to cancel the decision of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office and return with instructions to continue the actions of gathering evidence. If this prosecutor's office also refuses to act, we will appeal to the court”, the message also reads.
