The dead pilots Petko Dimitrov and Ventsislav Dunkin suffered traumatic injuries incompatible with life. This is shown by the prepared forensic medical examination. A day ago it became clear that the black box of the crashed near the "Graf Ignatievo" airbase plane will not be counted in Bulgaria.

This was confirmed by the head of the Military District Prosecutor's Office in Plovdiv, Hristo Anchev.

After such an accident, there is no way that people will be alive, the footage clearly shows the explosion that occurred when the plane fell, Anchev announced "24 hours ago".

As soon as possible, the necessary documents are being prepared to send it to specialists in the Czech Republic, where the L-39 is produced, the Military District Prosecutor's Office announced.

By order of Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov, the two officers who died in the line of duty on September 13 were posthumously promoted to military rank.

Major Petko Dimitrov Dimitrov – head of service “Planning and reporting of flight activity“ in the “Aviation-Tactical Training“ of military formation 52090 - Dolna Mitropolia, was promoted to the military rank of “lieutenant colonel”.

Senior Lieutenant Vencislav Atanasov Dunkin – junior expert III degree in service "Flight, emergency rescue and simulator training"; of department “Aviation-tactical training“ in military formation 52090 – Lower Metropolia, was promoted to the military rank of “captain”.

The two died on Friday, September 13, during a training flight with an L-39 ZA combat trainer, part of an air show at the airbase to mark the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's accession to NATO and during the day when the president Rumen Radev visited the base for the dress rehearsal.

On Tuesday, the military prosecutor's office in Plovdiv announced that the data collected so far show that Major Petko Dimitrov was piloting the plane at the time of the crash.
