The co-chairman of "We continue the change" Kiril Petkov met with former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Petkov is in the US on a three-day visit with the main focus on the future of the Western Balkans and the possibilities of countering Russia's influence in the region.
"We had a very in-depth conversation with Mike Pompeo, the 70th US Secretary of State. He assured that regardless of who won the US presidential election, the country's policy will be to partner with governments that fight corruption and respect international agreements and national laws. The idea that a potential Republican US administration would work better with autocrats in Europe who do not respect the law and undermine democracy in their countries is completely untenable and will greatly disappoint those leaders (in Bulgaria we have at least two such) whose dreams will remain unfulfilled," Petkov wrote on Facebook.
"And we, the Bulgarians, must know that the fate of Bulgaria is in our hands. We have to roll up our sleeves and do our job for the future of Bulgaria, because no one else will do it for us", writes the co-chairman of "We continue the change". Kyril Petkov.
