Captured Ukrainian fighters: No one wants to die, we were sent to slaughter - 1

Three servicemen of the 58th motorized rifle brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) surrendered to marines from the Pacific Fleet near Ugledar, after leaflets calling for surrender were written on their positions, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported, as quoted by TASS.

"After another clearing of enemy positions, three servicemen from the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine immediately stepped forward in front of the Russian marines to surrender. They left their positions near the village of Novoukrainka in the direction of Ugledar”, the department said.

As reported by the Ministry of Defense, one of the prisoners - Mikhail - said that he was forcibly mobilized, trained as a medic, but was sent to the front line, practically to be slaughtered. “When I arrived at the unit, they said they don't care who I train for, they need stormtroopers, they gave me a machine gun - go storm the positions,”, he explained.

"No one wants to die, no one wants to fight, everyone wants to live. They abandoned us and they don't care about us at all,” said prisoner Dmitry. “I advise all the guys in other positions to quit. They treat us normally here, they promise that there will be an exchange soon and they will exchange us”, another fighter from the Ukrainian armed forces, Alexander, who surrendered, turned to his colleagues.

The ministry specified that in order to deliver leaflets with a drone, a propaganda projectile is attached to it, which can carry 100-150 leaflets to be dropped from the air. Leaflets are sent to enemy positions before an assault begins to give the enemy an opportunity to surrender. The design of the leaflets was invented by officers of the military-political department of the group of troops “Vostok“; each containing a call to "surrender for your life" and a special QR code with instructions on how to do this.
