The number of wounded in the shelling of the village of Cheremoshnoe, Russia's Belgorod region, has risen to 12. This was announced by regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in the Telegram channel, quoted by "Interfax", writes news.bg.

"Latest news about the consequences of the shelling of the Ukrainian armed forces in the village of Cheremoshnoe, Belgorod Region, unfortunately, the number of our wounded has increased to 12 people,", he wrote.

According to the governor, of the 12 wounded civilians, seven were volunteer fighters who were helping to restore light in the houses of the border villages on Sunday. The head of the Yasnozoren village, Dmitry Pankov, was also injured. Four civilians were injured.

"At the moment, seven of the 12 injured are in the regional clinical hospital "St. Joasaf". Three are in the operating room, the rest are being examined, after which they will also be operated on. Two men with various lacerations separately sought medical attention. One of them, in a condition of medium severity with multiple lacerations of the lower limbs, was admitted to the traumatology department. The second victim was released for outpatient treatment.

Gladkov noted that the self-defense fighters achieved a feat by helping the residents of the region after work, risking their lives. The regional governor also thanked the energy workers and local residents.

"We will definitely nominate everyone for state awards," he wrote.
