Fake farmers tried to siphon off BGN 150,000 - 1

Attempt to siphon BGN 150,000 from the funds of the State social insurance was thwarted by employees of the National Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities-Haskovo.

In 2019, 71 people permanently living in neighboring countries submitted documents for payment of sick leave through proxies. Declared to the institutions that they provide themselves as farmers. An inquiry at the Ministry of the Interior showed that the people actually entered Bulgaria only to reveal bank accounts and to authorize the people who will represent them before the institutions.

19 of the supposed farmers received over BGN 60,000 from DOO, but NOI returned the illegally received funds. The remaining 52 were denied compensation.

Another scheme for siphoning funds from LLCs is revealed by the NOI. Again, in Haskovo, many people registered as farmers in order to receive maternity benefits. However, it turned out that they only raised a few chickens and fruits and vegetables for their own consumption.

In 2020, 118 reports were submitted. The checks showed that 96 people did not meet the requirements for farmers. They did not receive compensation from the LLC. In the period 2021 - 2023, alerts and offenders decrease.

Attempts for early retirement with false experience are also becoming more frequent, BNT reports.

A woman who, under an employment contract, works as a saleswoman in Dimitrovgrad for 8 hours a day, told the National Institute of Applied Sciences-Haskovo that she has a second employment contract in Veliko Tarnovo. According to him, she worked as a sewer under the conditions of the second category of work.

The case was handed over to the prosecutor's office in Veliko Tarnovo. There was also a family that wanted to retire under the conditions of the second category of work, but the National Institute of Social Security revealed that their work experience documents were fictitious.
