< p>Until today, Bulgarian citizens can submit an application for voting abroad for the upcoming parliamentary elections on October 27, the Central Election Commission (CEC) chronogram shows, BTA reported.
The application can be signed by hand and submitted in person to the diplomatic or consular representation of Bulgaria in the respective country; sent by letter by post or by courier service to the diplomatic or consular mission in the country concerned, and there may be more than one application in one letter, but only one person may be entered in each application. The application can also be submitted electronically, via the website of the CEC.
Electoral sections outside the country are formed in the diplomatic and consular representations of our country, as well as when no less than 40 applications for voting abroad are submitted, according to the Election Code. At the discretion of the heads of diplomatic and consular missions, based on the total number of submitted applications or the total number of those who voted in previous elections, including when the number of submitted applications for a specific location is less than 40, a reasoned proposal is sent to disclose sections to the Central Election Commission no later than 22 days before election day, the law provides.
Not later than 25 days from the election day, the organizations of Bulgarian citizens in the relevant place outside the country can make a proposal to the heads of the DKP for the location of the polling stations outside the country.
By October 5, the CEC must determine the locations in the states where polling stations will be formed outside the country and the number of polling stations in each location.
