„The most important thing right now is to ensure the integrity of the vote so that citizens gain confidence and return to the polls.
On the eve of the elections, our society is witnessing numerous signals and publications about bought and corporate votes. Specific names have even appeared. That is why today I am inviting to a meeting the representatives and heads of the responsible institutions, as well as the CEC and the Prosecutor General. The topic will be the readiness of these institutions to hold the elections and, above all, guarantee the fairness of the vote.“
This was stated by the head of state Rumen Radev to journalists.
„From the very first day of the current cabinet, I clearly stated that the first priority should be the fight against the bought vote.
By the results of this struggle, we will judge the overall work of the government. For me, as the head of state, it is important for our society to find out whether the institutions are aware of their responsibility to it and whether they will demonstrate the desired efficiency, so that finally this vicious phenomenon of bought votes is greatly limited.
So that the voice of the Bulgarians is no longer distorted, and accordingly to bring representatives into the parliament who are the product of such a bought vote”, the president added.
According to him, at the meeting today, the reports and reports of the state institutions will be reviewed in order to “find out what they are doing at all”.
„There is always a danger that the services and investigative bodies become part of the election race, but the thing that is important for a society to show that it is truly democratic – this is justice. "Justice, first of all, means the same approach by law enforcement agencies to all who have broken the law, not just to selected ones," he said.
„Quota is really important – you will receive information within the time limit set by the law”, Radev said in conclusion.
