On October 10 and 11, President Rumen Radev will visit the Republic of Poland, where he will participate in the 19 meeting of the heads of state of the group "Arayolus" at the invitation of his Polish colleague Andrzej Duda. This was announced by the press office of the head of state, FOCUS reported.

The informal summit will be attended by the president of Italy - Sergio Mattarella, of Portugal - Marcelo Rebelo de Souza, of Austria - Alexander Van der Bellen, of Greece - Katerina Sakellaropoulou, of Estonia - Alar Karis, of Slovenia - Natasha Pirc Mussar, of Latvia - Edgars Rinkevičs, of Hungary - Tamas Shujok, of Slovakia - Peter Pellegrini, of the Federal Republic of Germany - Frank-Walter Steinmeier, of Croatia - Andrej Plenković.

The main theme of the forum this year is examining the possibilities for deepening transatlantic relations in the context of global challenges and threats. The topic will also be a key priority of the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union, which begins on January 1, 2025. The "Arayolush" format was created in 2003 as a platform for dialogue between the presidents of countries from different regions of the EU.

On October 10, President Radev will visit the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, where Bulgarian philology is studied. The head of state will hold a meeting with representatives of the management of the oldest higher education institution in Poland, with scientists from the Institute of Slavic Philology, students, as well as with representatives of the Bulgarian Sunday school in Krakow and other members of the Bulgarian community in Poland. In the Jagiellonian Library, President Radev will open the exhibition "Stories from Glagolitic times". The exhibition was prepared by the team of Associate Professor Dr. Yavor Miltenov from the Bulgarian Language Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and presents little-known facts about the oldest alphabet of the Slavs and the role of Bulgaria in preserving it. Valuable original Glagolitic and Cyrillic manuscripts, which are in the Jagiellonian Library, will also be shown for the first time.

It is planned that the president will also hold a meeting with the honorary consuls of Bulgaria in Poland.
