Silvia Velikova: The biggest problem is that we have learned to tolerate everything - 1

„The biggest problem is that in recent years we have learned to bear everything. I have thought about how much less people went out into the street. Now tolerance has reached its limits… I can't imagine what could make people outraged by what is happening. This was stated in the show “Face to Face” the journalist Silvia Velikova.

She added that every day we see, and “Thank God there are institutions outside” that show us why people in Bulgaria are poor. “The last case was the painted fishing port in Varna, it is so revealing – you take some money from the European funds and invent a port to modernize it," Velikova pointed out.

In her words, there is something paradoxical in expecting politicians not to interfere in the election of the chief prosecutor. “We are facing one because the politicians decided that Geshev should be replaced when he was not comfortable or overreacted. I keep quoting Sotir Tsatsarov's words to Lozan Panov in the previous SCC: “The first three are elected in two other buildings, other than the SCC”, said Velikova.

According to her, there is no problem with Borislav Sarafov being the only candidate for chief prosecutor. “There is a problem that Sarafov enters this procedure without clearing the question marks around him. "Nobody did their job anywhere, and he enters the procedure with the suspicion that he is the eighth dwarf or that he covered investigations," Velikova said.

In her words, the fight against corruption in Bulgaria depends on the moment and the interest. “If it is true that Jeyhan Ibryamov bought votes in previous elections, he should not have the opportunity to do so now, as he had to serve his punishment,” she said regarding the detained MP. He added that in every election campaign, the police say they know about the vote-buying schemes, but they count them again, and they are not stopped.

According to Velikova, the election campaign does not follow the rules, there is no dispute about ideas and real debates. He hopes that the parties will realize what is happening and come clean.
