The Director of Israel's General Security Service (Shin Bet), Ronen Bar, made a secret visit to Cairo on Sunday, where he met with the head of Egyptian intelligence, Abbas Kamel, the Walla portal reports, quoted by News.bg.
According to a media source, the two discussed ways to resume negotiations for the release of hostages taken by Hamas during the October 7, 2023 attack. They also discussed issues related to the "Philadelphia" corridor. and the crossing point "Rafah" – key points of tension between Israel and Palestine.
Journalist Barak Ravid of Axios reported on social media that despite talks on a ceasefire and the release of hostages, the meeting did not produce any concrete results.
