The explanation of the Ministry of the Interior that evidence is needed in order to reach the guarantors of vote trading is unsatisfactory.
This was stated by Vice President Iliyana Yotova, who has already demanded that the law enforcement authorities say which parties are buying votes, but the interior minister refuses.
"There are a number of examples related including to legislative changes, which can then enter the electoral legislation. And why not, if it is proven which party provides funds or incites vote-buying, be deprived, for example, of participating in the next elections," Yotova said.
"The very fact that every day we witness numerous police actions and detained people for buying votes means one thing - we have an epidemic," added the vice president.
Iliyana Yotova summarized that all this is no longer urban folklore, it is not rumours, but this is the way in which Bulgaria conducts elections, BTV reported.
