In the period October 16-18, acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev will be in Brussels, where will participate in the Summit between the European Union (EU) and the Gulf Cooperation Council and in the regular meeting of the European Council. This was announced by the press service of the cabinet, BTA reported.
Today the Prime Minister will take part in the first ever Summit between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council. The Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Persian Gulf is a regional organization in which: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates participate. The main topics that will be discussed at the meeting will be: solving common key global challenges, economic cooperation, including trade and investment, energy, climate change.
On October 17 and 18, the regular meeting of the European Council will be held in the Belgian capital. It will discuss the war in Ukraine, the growing tension in the Middle East, as well as the topic of competitiveness. European leaders will also hold a discussion on migration and review the implementation of the comprehensive approach to it. Another leading topic of the European Council will be climate change and biodiversity.
BTA recalls that yesterday the Council of Ministers approved the position of Bulgaria for participation in the regular meeting of the European Council on October 17-18 in Brussels.
