Prof. Ivo Indjov: The parties are saving strength for the next elections - 1

Politicians talk little about the growing pressure, harsh and arrogant of the parties against journalists. They want them not to have the right to ask questions, to do research, and this is a serious problem.

This is what political scientist Assoc. Ivo Injov commented on the election campaign in an interview with BNR.

"There is a revival of political pressure on the media in Bulgaria and against specific journalists who have a strong voice on the Internet. And this leads me to think that the political pressure has not gone away in recent years. This is a serious problem and work must be started on it", the political scientist believes.

He defined the election campaign as sluggish and modest in terms of resources:

"In the public space - media and social networks, there is no sense of a dynamic and meaningful campaign on which so much depends. If the politicians had serious intentions in this direction, there would be more thematic centering and creativity, I did not notice such a thing. Many people ask themselves - is there a campaign, we don't see it, it doesn't touch us?".

Assoc. Indjov explains this with the seventh consecutive elections within 3 and a half years and "PRs are tired".

"And with fairly similar ideological similarities between individual parties, it is difficult to bet on an ideological component. Many of the topics were discussed a few months ago in another election campaign", he explained the reasons for the sluggish campaign.

And he added that "the parties are saving strength and funds for the next election campaign next year", because there was a high probability that a government would not be formed after October 27.

The political scientist predicts that the chances of a regular cabinet are 50:50 and if there is a government, it will last for about 9 months, "as long as the assembly lasts". And remember that in 4 years we have only had two regular governments, but for a short time.
