Kaloyan Metodiev: The contract with Botash is against national interest and we are probably going to arbitration - 1

From the answer of Minister Vladimir Malinov, it is clear that the contract with "Botash" is against the national interest of Bulgaria and we are probably going to arbitration.

This is what the independent deputy in the 50th parliament Kaloyan Metodiev told the BNR and specified that the company "Bulgargaz" stopped the payments in July because it "obviously is no longer able to pay those 1 million from the Bulgarian budget, which go to the accounts of "Botash" every day.

The state gas supplier "Bulgargaz" hired a legal consultant, who by October 14 had to provide an analysis of the various legal options for maximum protection of the interests of the Bulgarian company under the contract concluded with the Turkish "Botash" an agreement to reserve capacity of 1.85 billion cubic meters per year until 2036, for which the daily fee is close to 500 thousand dollars. A meeting between the two companies that signed the agreement was supposed to take place in Istanbul on October 15. She should have presented the conclusions of this analysis to the Turkish company, insisting on receiving the money, which, however, "Bulgargaz" stopped paying in July.

This is clear from the answer of the Acting Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov to a question of Kaloyan Metodiev, received on October 11.

"This is the second document after the report of the commission "Botash" in the 49th National Assembly, which is in the prosecutor's office. ... Which country signs a contract until 2036 for billions, without a clause to terminate the contract, and only after two years of paying for something it does not receive, is looking for a consulting firm? The question is about responsibility - President Rumen Radev, Acting Prime Minister Galab Donev and the head of "Bulgargaz" they must bear their responsibility", Metodiev also commented.

In his words, the Turkish company continues to send invoices, and "Bulgargaz" does not pay them, stressing that the Turkish side is not to blame in this case because "they did not force us to sign this contract, the traitor is in our house".

Politicians in Bulgaria kept quiet on the subject, Metodiev also pointed out.
