The National Theater raises its curtain for the third night in a row for the performance of "Arms and the Man" , which caused protests and an attempted assault, BNT reported. Last night, the performance based on the play by Bernard Shaw and directed by John Malkovich was played to a full house and applauded on its feet by the audience.
Tonight there are far fewer people outside the theater and the atmosphere is calm. For the third day, the police presence around the building remains increased. A peaceful protest in support of art, culture and freedom of speech is organized tomorrow at 6 p.m.

Some of the men captured by the cameras during the escalation of tension have been recognized, but they have not yet been detained or questioned, NOVA reported.
The play started at 19:00 sharp amid tight security. There is a police cordon in front of the central entrance of the cultural institution.
Although it is calm and quiet around the National Theater now, two evenings in a row the situation was different. On Friday evening there were two demonstrations - one “against” the play the man and the guns, the other in support of actors, art and the right of expression. Unlike Thursday evening, yesterday the hall was filled with an audience, and the performance was wildly applauded.
“With the ban on staging – one, two, three, we will also have to ban Aleko Konstantinov, Bai Gagno, Misunderstood Civilization”, adds screenwriter and producer Borislav Chuchkov.
