The combat capability, modernization and rearmament of the Bulgarian army are key task. It is important that the state's proactive policy in this direction continues. This was stated by Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev at the "Georgi Benkovski" Higher Air Force School, Dolna Mitropolia, where he participated in the ceremonial presentation of the virtual reality system for training the "F-16 Block 70". and on the two newly acquired helicopters “CABRI“ for training cadets. I am convinced that the next governments, in whatever format they are, will continue this trend, which is NATO-wide and worldwide – we will continue to modernize and re-equip our army, added Glavchev. The Prime Minister also pointed out that, as a member of NATO, our country can also rely on the collective capabilities of the Alliance.
In response to a journalist's question about the situation in the National Assembly, Prime Minister Glavchev was categorical: “I will not enter the territory of other institutions, some people are tempted, but my duties as acting prime minister are enough for me, we do our work as long as is necessary“. The Prime Minister expressed hope that the politicians will find a common language, find a way for a fruitful dialogue, start solving the problems of the Bulgarian citizens and a regular government will be formed.
When asked about the report of the Ministry of the Interior regarding what happened last week in front of the National Theater, Prime Minister Glavchev said that he expects it to be ready in a short period of time and that it will become publicly known.
Regarding the problem of dehydration, the Prime Minister pointed out that he had created a special working group on the problem. The line ministries are in continuous dialogue with the local government. Part of the solution is to upgrade the water network, as it is outdated and water losses are huge. According to Glavchev, it is important that these costs be included in the investment program for municipal projects, so that they do not affect the price.
In 2025 a dam is about to be put into operation in the Panagyurishte region. “Crazy Yana” and a drinking water treatment plant to it. This is the second drinking water dam to be built in the country in the last 30 years. Also in the estimated budget for the period 2025-2028. funds have been proposed to finance surveys, studies, design and construction and installation works on several dams in the country. These are the “Black Eight“ dams. for Pleven and Lovech, “Hristo Smirnenski“, dam. “White“ for Gabrovo, Sevlievo and Dryanovo, as well as the partially constructed dam wall “Kyustendil” and "Sliven" drinking water treatment plant.
