A day before a new attempt is made to make the parliament work, the political parties continue to argue about who should head it 51st National Assembly. Surprisingly, yesterday the PP-DB announced that they are withdrawing the nomination of Andrey Tsekov for the Speaker of the National Assembly and will instead support the ITN doyenne Silvi Kirilov. They also called on the other political forces to withdraw their nominations. The GERB-SDS announced that they would not support him, because that would mean that they agreed that he should also become acting prime minister. ITN will vote for Silvi Kirilov on Wednesday.
From the “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms” they are yet to make an official decision. MECH is meeting today to decide how to proceed. From “Revival” are categorical that they are not giving up their nomination Petar Petrov. At this stage, it is not clear how "DPS - New Beginning" will vote. The BSP also has no comment on whether they would withdraw Nataliya Kiselova in favor of Silvi Kirilov.
