I heard the news about the protests of livestock breeders in Velingradsko. The whole scary picture of 2018 flashed before my eyes. Watch Velingrad and remember Bolyarovo, Sharkovo, grandmother Dora's goats. I was there then. Together with people from all over the country we made a living chain. I lived there for days and we looked after the animals. I also fought in the parliament to save them. GERB filed a report to the prosecutor's office against me for endangering national security and accused me of organizing a coup against the government. They smeared me and drove me around the institutions. But I didn't give up.
There was a brave woman farmer Annie whom we helped and she filed a lawsuit. In 2020, the Supreme Administrative Court ruled definitively: “There is a lack of convincing evidence for the development of plague in small ruminants over time and in the specific region". They slaughtered people's animals for no reason and depopulated the region.
And now I turn to the breeders in Velingrad: do not let them near the herds. Ask for two independent reviews. Fight for your rights.
