The MP from “BSP-United Left” Borislav Gutsanov stated that the party's proposal from Wednesday is to nominate new candidates for the Speaker of the National Assembly. “Six times there is no support. We are not electing the chief urologist of the state, with the greatest respect to Silvi Kirilov, but the speaker of the parliament. Therefore, from “BSP-United Left“ we did everything we could, and after seeing that this option was also exhausted and that common sense did not prevail, we decided to propose this approach," explained the national representative on the air of "Hello, Bulgaria".
„We hope and are having conversations with the parties about whether we would arrive at a common candidacy that would be as acceptable as possible. At 10 a.m. we are also gathering our parliamentary group to make a final decision”, said Gutsanov.
He specified that they sent invitations for talks to all parties, without “DPS-New Beginning” and GERB-SDS. “We were able to meet with some of the colleagues. Despite our differences, with “Continuing the Change” we had similar conversations. In the end, this parliament must work in the best way”, the people's representative believes.
According to Gutsanov, the big problem surrounding the parliament at the moment is the changes in the Constitution. “If we hold new elections under the same rules, what will be the change? What will it matter that we signed the “sanitary cordon“ when we have not changed anything? The powers of the president must be returned”, the deputy is emphatic.
