Bojanov: It is important for us to isolate Mr. Peevski and his influence

With several legal changes, even if they were important and imperative - for example, the suspension of the election of Borislav Sarafov for 7 years, we do not solve the permanent problems - most likely the next Sarafov would be installed

Bojanov: It is important for us to isolate Mr. Peevski and his influence - 1

It is strange - without conditions for support for a prime minister, GERB would give support for a candidate of the BSP, but not for a candidate of "Democratic Bulgaria". Bozhidar Bojanov from "Yes, Bulgaria" stated this to the BNR. – part of the PP-DB coalition, regarding the blocked election of the Speaker of the National Assembly.

"The issue of the speaker of the National Assembly could have been disconnected from the topic of a prime minister and a governing majority, because indeed the first political force extremely delayed, consciously or not, with the process of some attempt to form a government. She even gave up her first mandate last week. Now perhaps we should understand that she has come back to the idea. Let them formulate a clearer concept," he commented.

We are going around in circles, the deputy pointed out and repeated again that they would hold talks on the realization of the mandates with everyone, without "Revival" and "New Beginning", which for him are a significant risk for the state. According to him, the format in which this can happen is currently being sought.

"What is most important for us is the isolation of Mr. Peevski and his influence in the control mechanisms in the state,", he declared.

In his words, the PP-DB declaration on the sanitary cordon is a tool for establishing the presence of such a majority. "And from there we can start to form a real majority to remove Peevski", explained Bojanov and indicated:

"What the colleagues from GERB asked the Constitutional Court is not what we propose. We propose that through a vote of the majority of people's representatives, leadership positions should not be given to one or another political force, in the case of DPS-NN.

According to him, the limitation of Peevski's influence goes through regular management:

"With several legal changes, were they important and imperative – for example, the suspension of the election of Borislav Sarafov for 7 years, we do not solve the permanent problems – the next Sarafov would most likely be installed. Or in the anti-corruption commission, we have no reason to believe that if we replace Anton Slavchev, the other members will not assist Peevski. Management is needed to remove Peevski's influence permanently. But as a first step we have put the declaration in place to see if there is a way forward.

In his words, systemic decisions in the judiciary and a new SJC are needed. For him, the permanent solution is, first of all, a change of the SJC under a transparent procedure, so that people who are not "Peevski's quota" enter there, and then the election of a new chief prosecutor. But also a revision of the Law on the Judiciary, added the deputy from PP-DB and emphasized that regular management is required for all this.

For him, the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly is so difficult because there is no formed majority. If there is one, then the change of regulators would become easier, he thinks and recalled:

"The joint broke the moment we actually came to the decision – are we filling the SCC without Peevski's quota? We were denied that then. We hope this time to reach a decision that the SJC cannot have a quota for Peevski.

Bozhidar Bojanov pointed out that they do not have many requirements and summarized them in one sentence: "Removal of corrupt influences in the three authorities, which are currently concentrated around Peevski".

If a government is under the influence of Peevski, it cannot achieve lasting solutions to the important problems of the people, he was categorical.

According to him, first there should be a leadership meeting in order to clarify the principled agreements on priorities. Only then can specific other issues be discussed, he expressed his opinion.

"We are all in the same boat at the moment and it is filling up with water," commented the deputy.
