Consensus to stop the selection procedure a new chief prosecutor is missing. This enthusiasm to stop Borislav Sarafov from becoming the new chief prosecutor is rash.
This was stated to BNT by the former city prosecutor of Sofia Nikolay Kokinov, quoted by news.bg.
According to him, the public is not excited about the choice and personality of the new chief prosecutor. People expect completely different things from the people's representatives, and one of the last things citizens are excited about is who will be the chief prosecutor, commented Nikolay Kokinov.
He believes that it is not reasonable that one person should be in charge forever, but it is proper that a procedure for electing a new chief prosecutor should be brought to the end. Borislav Sarafov wants to calm down the judicial system and limit louder statements and concentrate efforts within the professional duties of the prosecutor's office without much noise, explained Kokinov.
In Kokinov's opinion, judicial reform is not a dirty word, but has become political chewing gum.
Regarding the aggression in the capital's malls and the frequent cases of domestic violence, Kokino commented that there was no increased growth in crimes by minors. The reasons for this are different - the lack of the first seven years. The system that regulates the actions of minors is too old and the sanctions are not able to deter the perpetrators of the crime, Kokinov pointed out.
