Stoynev: In a new election, GERB will win them again and will still not be able to govern because it is in isolation - 1

After 10 failed elections for the Speaker, it seemed as if the Parliament had lost the horizon of normality and finally we got a parliamentary majority and a candidate who was not expected and did not follow the development from the first attempts to elect the Speaker of the National Assembly. It is not clear whether this new majority in the parliament behind Natalia Kiselova is something permanent or just a temporary condition for the parliament to unblock and start working. This is what political commentator Veselin Stoynev said in the program "Metronome". on Radio "Focus".

"Parliament was divided along two lines: one along the Peevski axis, the other along the "Revival" axis, trying to form two majorities – one led by the victorious GERB party, which, however, remained isolated because of Peevski, and another around PP-DB, ITN, "Vazrazhdane" and BSP. In the end, a mix was obtained between these two majorities, in which GERB, PP-DB, BSP and APS participate – this is the majority that elected Natalia Kiselova as Speaker of the National Assembly."

In his words, the dividing lines in the parliament are an inevitable course of the political process, the question is how they were played by the political representatives. The corruption-anti-corruption line was proposed by PP-DB already in its election campaign with the need for GERB to determined against Peevski. The other line with "Revival" - pro-European-anti-European and anti-NATO unites the European partners GERB, PP-DB and DPS in its two variants. "These two dividing lines had to be somehow juggled, and to overcome them meant either making a new "assemblage" between the former Euro-Atlantic partners, or to form some new administration that is anti-GERD and anti-DPS oriented, and behind which to "peek" the president."

According to him, the politicians in Bulgaria are in the unpleasant situation of feeling abandoned after both engines of Europe, Germany and France, are currently decapitated, the situation in Syria and even more so that Donald Trump in a month and half will enter into the performance of his duties as president and is expected to fundamentally change the geopolitical position of forces in the world. "All this Bulgarian politicians, who are highly dependent on foreign policy more, they should account for it one way or another. And to consider it with the reflex of a concession, which in our case would be constructive, because it would encourage them to seek some kind of agreement and search for internal political stability to get out of the crisis", said Veselin Stoynev and added that this is precisely why it is more logical is to form a government, since there is no way to change the ratio in the parliament in a new election.

In new elections, GERB will once again win them and once again will not be able to govern because it is in isolation. PP-DB will once again collect losses, this time due to the failure to enforce their line of anti-corruption reforms. From these elections, according to him, the only winners will be DPS "New Beginning", because Peevski sees in the elections the opportunity to suck out the rest of the electorate of DPS, i.e. to delete the authentic DPS of Ahmed Dogan. New, non-systemic parties are likely to increase their presence in parliament, taking advantage of the protest vote.

"But this will in no way change the political configuration and the blockage of forces, if no major alternative appears or for the possibility of Rumen Radev appearing on the political field. But he wouldn't do it if the Constitutional Court gives him back the power to appoint a caretaker government himself, because it's a much safer situation for him, without taking any risks, explained the political commentator.
