The Plovdiv Association "Bulgarian Brothers" will hold a protest today at 12:00 in front of the Council of Ministers building. "Our goal is to unite all sectors in agriculture and draw public attention to the incorrect policies of the state, which will have a detrimental effect on Bulgaria and the Bulgarian people. We must urgently restore dialogue with the institutions and together find effective solutions for the benefit of all", says Eng. Atanas Mavrodiev, manager of the Association.
From there, they are closely monitoring the events surrounding the sheep crisis in the city of Velingrad and, as an association defending the rights of Bulgarian citizens and agricultural producers, are seriously concerned about yet another attempt at mass destruction of animals. To the problem of sheep farmers should be added the problem of grazing animals in the National Park “Central Balkan“, which will soon lead to the mass destruction of cattle. Another serious problem is the mass destruction of animals due to smallpox in the Sliven region, as well as the approaching threat of infection with the so-called “blue tongue“.
"With all these critical problems threatening the existence of the livestock sector, we ask the logical question: where is the role of the responsible institutions? Why are there no adequate preventive and timely measures and actions by the competent authorities and institutions to manage such crises," adds Mavrodiev.
