Bad conditions for tourism in the mountains, the weather is cloudy and foggy. This was announced by the Mountain Rescue Service (PSS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC).
Snow is falling above 1700 m. There is a new snow cover above 1800 m, which is about 10 cm. A cold snap is expected.
There have been no recorded incidents with tourists in the past 24 hours.
Precipitation will stop from the northwest, at the latest in the southern regions, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) announced. Over the northwestern half of the country, the cloud cover will break, and over the rest of the country it will remain significant. The wind will be oriented from the west-northwest and will be moderate, temporarily strong in Northern Bulgaria and the Upper Thracian Lowland. Maximum temperatures will be between 4°C and 9°C, in Sofia - around 4°C.
