The Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions (CTU) announced that the talks on the controversial texts in the CTU, affecting payments and working conditions, will continue on January 8 next year, from 10:00 a.m. in the building of the Sofia Municipality.
The meeting was attended today by the Mayor of Sofia Vasil Terziev, Deputy Mayor for Finance Ivan Vassilev, the Director of the Sofia Motor Transport Company Stiliyan Manolov and the Chairmen of the Federations of Transport Workers at the Trade Union "Podkrepa" and at the Confederation of Trade Unions - Ivan Kirilov and Alexander Shopov.
“The Sofia Municipality assumed and fulfilled its commitments to transport workers a few months ago, when we increased salaries by 15%, we completed the bonus system agreement. Although the Sofia Municipality is not a party to the current agreement on the Trade Union, we undertook to be a mediator between the parties until a solution is found, because for us the working conditions of the workers and the conditions for trouble-free movement in the city are paramount”, commented Ivan Vassilev, quoted in the announcement.
The Municipality's press center added that in 2024 21 million leva were provided for additional financing of the transport companies “Stolichen Autotransport“ EAD and “Stolichen Elektrotransport“ EAD and a record economic framework for transport in the amount of 500 million leva was financed and implemented. This year, work began on a program to replace the rolling stock of public transport.
Earlier today, the CITUB announced that information was incorrectly disseminated in the public space that the reason for the protest, which took place on December 20, was a dispute between trade union organizations in the municipal company “Stolichen Autotransport“.
Last week, the Federation of Transport Unions at the CITUB organized a protest demanding that the employer in “Stolichen Autotransport“ to comply with the requirements of the Labor Code and to begin negotiations for the conclusion of a Collective Labor Agreement with the draft approved by the general meeting of the employees of the company.
