Manol Genov: GERB must decide what to do with the mandate - 1

Whether it will immediately return the folder with the mandate to form a government is GERB's decision.

This was commented to journalists in Kalofer by Manol Genov, deputy chairman of the parliamentary group of "BSP-United Left" and part of the formation's negotiating team, after GERB-SDF announced that they were terminating negotiations to form a government, BTA summarized.

"On Tuesday, we start work, as per the rules, committees, meetings, and now whether a folder will be handed over and it will be returned immediately, this is a decision of the largest party and the mandate holder - in this case, the political party GERB", said Manol Genov.

When asked if we are going to new elections, he said: "I don't know what other possibility you are assuming, but if GERB terminates the negotiations, because they, as the mandate holder, were leading in these negotiations". "Democratic Bulgaria" does not accept the candidacy of Rosen Zhelyazkov for prime minister, I know this from my colleagues a little while ago. I know that there would have been meetings. Now we have received a message that they are terminating the negotiations, Genov pointed out.

The negotiating teams of GERB-SDF, DB, "BSP-United Left" and ITN have been talking in recent days in the building of the National Assembly. Yesterday it was reported that the four formations have been working on formulating the points in the agreement on governance and decision-making mechanisms.

Earlier today, the GERB press center sent a message informing that they are terminating the negotiations on forming a government. "No agreement was reached with "Democratic Bulgaria" on the personal composition of the future government and the name of the candidate for Prime Minister. This became clear at today's meeting of the negotiating teams of GERB – UDF, "Democratic Bulgaria", "BSP – United Left" and ITN in the National Assembly", wrote GERB. They added that they thank the teams of "BSP – United Left" and ITN for their participation in the negotiations and for the constructive tone on their part.
