There is potential for cuts in the state administration, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth Tomislav Donchev to journalists in Plovdiv in connection with the topic of the adoption of the state budget for 2025.
"It is right in this situation to seek reserves in the maintenance of the state administration apparatus itself. There are reserves here. I am not talking only about staff cuts, but also about maintenance costs," Donchev also said.
The Deputy Prime Minister announced that, if possible, the costs that reach the citizens should not be touched. "All expenses that reach people and businesses cannot be the subject of discussion, they must be preserved", Donchev also said.
He added that a budget should be presented within two weeks. "We will seek additional reserves in revenues without increasing taxes, which rather means that everyone who owes taxes should pay them", commented Tomislav Donchev. He also mentioned the war on the shadow economy, which, in his words, is one third of the Bulgarian economy.
