Metodi Lalov: The judicial system cannot discipline politicians not to be connected to behind-the-scenes - 1

The judicial system changes through politics. However, politics cannot fix the judicial system, since the judicial system cannot discipline politicians not to be connected to behind-the-scenes. This is a vicious circle.
The opinion was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio by Metodi Lalov, a former criminal judge and chairman of the Sofia District Court.

In his words, Borisov, Peevski, Dogan are at the heart of the behind-the-scenes, conquered state, and Geshev, Sarafov, Tsatsarov are its exponents.

"They also started to be elected by 500-600,000 votes, Borisov fell from 1,200,000. PP-DB shrank to 300,000. You cannot carry out judicial reform with a criminal. (…) You can't make a reform with behind-the-scenes players."

Borisov and Peevski were going to be bled dry, but because of the assembly they were legitimized, he pointed out and emphasized that "society has a short memory - every three days a miracle is presented to us as bread and spectacles by political players".

The protest energy is spontaneous and reactive, through a specific case. And from animals to children who died on the road, through the fires in the BDZ and the social system that cannot help – all this is related to demands on politicians and to replace them when they are not doing their job, the former judge insisted.

Citizens must exert civil pressure on politicians to nominate candidates for certain positions, including key ones in the judicial system, he is categorical.

"Now is the time to make politicians provide us with competition!"
The Prosecutor General's Office needs brave, bright, decisive, even unacceptable and crazy people from the politicians' point of view, commented Metodi Lalov, who has ambitions for the prosecutor's office. The shackles of fear can only be broken if someone from outside the system enters, he argues.

"It is not a provocation to simply play on public ground. There is no other way. (…) Who will fight these people head-on?"

The institutions are protected, stated Metodi Lalov in the program "Politically Incorrect". He pointed out that no one has ever managed to put pressure on him in his position as an administrative manager and reminded that he left the judicial system with a bang.
Metodi Lalov noted that he could cope "as a porter at the station", but he cannot cope with waking up in the morning and knowing that he is being kept in dependence. He shared that while he was in the judicial system he had never heard of Petyo Petrov – The euro, but rewinding the tape, sees "indications of connections (to Teodora Georgieva) that are not accidental".

"She did not refuse and did not deny that she was on these recordings, because she was on these recordings. It is scary. The question is not about her – she has loved ones, a family, who will protect them? Society must explode – not in defense of Teodora Georgieva, but in its own support."
