The first session of the National Assembly will be held today, after Head of State Rumen Radev, in an address to the nation, proposed holding a national referendum with the question “Do you agree that Bulgaria should introduce the single European currency “euro“ in 2026?”, NOVA reported.
Yesterday, Parliament Speaker Natalia Kiselova returned the document to the president on the grounds that his request is inconsistent with the Constitution and the law.
“Vazrazhdane” declared Kiselova's actions unconstitutional and stated that they are starting a petition for her removal from office.
