Municipal councilors insisted on a proposal on how to compensate season ticket holders in Sofia who did not use them during the six days of the strike in the ground public transport.
The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Transport and Road Safety in the Sofia Municipal Council, Ivan Takov, and his deputy Carlos Contrera sent a letter to the executive director of the "Center for Urban Mobility" EAD Rumyana Milova.
In it, they recall that "in connection with the protests of transport workers in the period May 14-19, 2025, the ground public transport of the Sofia Municipality did not operate according to the timetables and approved schedules. This led to the inability of those who purchased MGT season tickets to use the service“.
„In this regard, we believe that there was force majeure with respect to passengers, as due to circumstances beyond their control, insurmountable circumstances, they were unable to use a service for which they had prepaid. Therefore, we suggest that you make an estimate and submit a proposal to extend the validity of the MGT season tickets, valid in the specified period - May 14-19, 2025, by automatically extending their validity by 6 calendar days“.
According to Ivan Takov, this is a technical issue that should not complicate the CGM.
