Diana Damyanova: PP commits stupidity after stupidity - 1

In the scandal that erupted around Nikola Minchev, an MEP from "We Continue the Change" (PP), the main question is whether this is real corruption or another political negligence.

"I have said many times that "We Continue the Change" commits stupidity after stupidity. And that stupidity is their characteristic feature and inconsistency. But I have always said that these people, at least during the time I knew them, were not and I think that they are not corrupt to this day," said PR expert Diana Damyanova in the studio of "Denyat ON AIR".

According to her, the big problem in this case is not Minchev's participation in an event related to the investigated technology company, but the way in which his schedule was organized. She emphasized that the advisors of the MEPs have a key role in shaping their public image and in the choice of events in which they participate. In this sense, if there is a mistake, it is in the choice of an inappropriate advisor, which led to a compromising situation. "I am deeply convinced, specifically about him, that he slipped – but in the literal sense of the word. Stupidity, general, total stupidity. An extraordinary stupidity that will cost him his good name, because he was one of the very few people in "We continue the change" who have preserved a good name until now," Damyanova told Bulgaria ON AIR.

The conversation also moved on to another current issue - the transport blockade and union protests.

Damyanova expressed disagreement with attempts to discredit the unions, including by placing them in quotation marks in the public discourse. "It is obvious that Bulgarian drivers have a problem. It is obvious that they did not solve their problem through a strike. Something that I will acclaim - and then, when they make a real legal strike, they receive assistance. This solidarity disappeared because they were called terrorists, unions in quotation marks, etc.,", the PR expert also said.

Damyanova emphasizes that at the moment Boyko Borisov has no interest in street protests and social tension.

"Borisov has no benefit from having people on the streets. Borisov has no benefit from having 2 million outraged citizens. Borisov wants peace, Borisov wants silence, Borisov wants to serve his four-year term without any problems," the guest said.
