Bozhidar Bozhanov: Radev tried to pull the handbrake at the last moment, which is not in the national interest

Bozhidar Bozhanov: Radev tried to pull the handbrake at the last moment, which is not in the national interest - 1

The right moment and the right motives for a vote of no confidence must be assessed.

This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by PP-DB MP Bozhidar Bozhanov, co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria", part of "Democratic Bulgaria" and explained:

"If a positive convergence report is released and after it a positive decision by the EU Council, and the next day we submit a vote of no confidence, that will look a bit strange. There will be news, the only positive thing that this government has done during this period, and the next day we say go. We are collecting the negatives that the government has accumulated so far, discussing and preparing arguments for a vote of no confidence, but the exact moment and the exact arguments are yet to be specified later".

He described the president's move with a proposal for a referendum on the euro as destructive:

"At the last moment, he tried to pull the handbrake, which is not in the national interest at all".

According to him, Rumen Radev has given signals many times that he is preparing a political project, but it remains to be seen whether this will happen and whether such a new party entity will participate in the possible next parliamentary elections.
Bozhidar Bozanov commented on the words of GERB leader Boyko Borisov that the government will be his when he is prime minister and Delyan Peevski is a minister:

"I am not I'm sure he discussed this with Peevski, because I imagine that Peevski wants him to be prime minister and Borisov to be minister. ... If Peevski decides at some point that he has gathered enough mayors, that he has gathered enough people like Chakarov and like the next MP from the DPS-DPS who joins him with his pressure tools - the prosecutor's office, services, the National Revenue Agency, etc. - he can trigger early elections by removing confidence from the cabinet and thus secure the prime minister's post, let's say, or at least a stronger position. This does not directly depend on the actions of the opposition".
According to the MP, it is not possible for the government to be supported by the PP-DB, since the parties in it constantly violate the cordon sanitaire towards Delyan Peevski:

"When the ruling party wants so much to push the opposition into a corner, Borisov cannot then go before the cameras and say that he opened the door".
