Drivers who have a trip coming up today should keep in mind that repairs on key road sections in our country continue.
On Wednesday, June 4, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., traffic in the direction of Sofia in the section from km 58 to km 78 of the Struma highway will be closed. will be carried out in stages in the overtaking lane due to pavement repair work in the active lane, the Road Infrastructure Agency announced.
On June 5 and 6, between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., joint repairs will be carried out at km 45 of the same highway in the direction of Sofia, in the Kyustendil region. During the construction work, passage in the active and overtaking lanes will be limited, and traffic will be carried out with increased caution in the emergency lane, the Road Infrastructure Agency said.
Repair work also continues in the section from km 4 to 5 at the Malo Buchino junction in the direction of Blagoevgrad. On June 4, from 8 a.m. to June 6, traffic in the section will pass into the emergency lane. Traffic in the active and overtaking lanes will be restricted for road surface repairs.
On June 4, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the section from 36 to 39 km of the “Hemus“ motorway in the direction of Sofia, traffic will also be carried out in stages in one lane for geodetic surveying in connection with the upcoming repair of the asphalt pavement. Travel in the overtaking and emergency lanes will be restricted, and vehicles will move to the active lane.
On Thursday, June 5, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., traffic in the direction of Sofia between the 58th and 78th km of the motorway will move to the active lane in stages, and overtaking will be restricted.
In addition, until 8 p.m. on June 5, drivers should be careful in the area of the roundabout at the 112th km of the I-2 Shumen - Varna road and the I-7 Panayot Volovo - Shumen road. Repair work is being carried out in the section to restore the compromised road surface, and traffic will be regulated with road signs and signalmen.
The “Road Infrastructure“ Agency apologizes to drivers for the inconvenience caused, but the work is necessary to ensure traffic safety, they note. The agency's appeal is to drivers to drive carefully, to observe traffic rules and speed limits, and not to undertake risky overtaking that endangers the safety of all other travelers.
