"This assessment is extremely important for Bulgarian society, because it is the result of decades of efforts to achieve a high degree of financial and economic convergence with developed European countries. This is an assessment of the stability of Bulgarian finances, the sustainability of the Bulgarian economy and its working capacity. Above all, this is an assessment of the efforts of Bulgarian society, which back in the 1990s declared its unwavering path to being a worthy member of the EU and part of Europe," said Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov at the beginning of the meeting of the Council of Ministers, quoted by dariknews.bg.
He pointed out that if they put aside political rhetoric and passions, they, as a pragmatic cabinet, have several main tasks in the coming months.
"They are to make the process of introducing the euro smooth, predictable and predictable. To dispel the fears instilled in people and used for political abuse. And to give all guarantees that we will counteract unfair commercial practices," said Zhelyazkov regarding the process of adopting the euro in our country.
The Prime Minister explained that at their meeting today they will make two important decisions.
"One is to create a mechanism at the government level to address all issues related to interaction with industry organizations, with employers and unions. With all those who produce goods and services, so that there are no concerns that there will be an unjustified increase in prices, as well as to exercise permanent control over this long before the introduction of the euro. To this end, we will adopt a draft of such a memorandum, we will create this mechanism and in the coming days we will hold meetings with all organizations, associations, employers and unions," Zhelyazkov indicated.
