Finance expert Levon Hampartzumyan called the measures announced by the National Revenue Agency (NRA) against possible speculation in commodity prices "psychotherapy."
“I suggest that when all this work with the introduction of the euro is finished, the tax authorities should start taking care of their tax work, and not looking for prices“, Hampartzumyan said on “This Morning“ on bTV.
“Some of our citizens are confused and it would be good to take some measures to calm them down. They will calm these agitated citizens more than prices“, commented the financier.
He stated that the market corrects itself and prices are adjusted every day.
“Price levels are determined by two key factors - competition and control. If these two things are in order, they are adjusted somehow. We have the so-called fair prices. It depends on which neighborhood you buy in, in which store. It depends on the different levels of quality“, pointed out Levon Hampartzumyan.
“Even communist China does not administer prices. This means that these people, who are otherwise super totalitarian, have understood something. But they do not. If they do not, obviously they cannot“, he also said.
“There can be no avalanche. There may be isolated attempts and they will probably continue. Let's not scare," commented Miroslav Naydenov, former Minister of Agriculture and Food.
„The state is preparing for this war. If there are heavy sanctions, these attempts will stop“, he added.
According to him, the state has extraordinary power and if it wants to, it will deal with speculation.
„If the state does nothing, we will criticize it. If it starts doing something, we say - it is interfering in the market. These are temporary measures. The control is for one year. But something must be done“, commented Miroslav Naydenov.
