Dimitar Shalafov – one of the two municipal councilors who, together with the district mayors of „Mladost“ and „Lyulin“ announced their departure from „We continue the change“, announced on his Facebook page that until late last night he had been giving evidence about his allegations of pressure in the Commission for Combating Corruption.
„A terrible number of people contacted me yesterday and today, after the information that my colleagues and I provided. I was unable to speak to any of the many people - including Mayor Vasil Terziev, colleagues, journalists and friends who were looking for me, because I was giving evidence until late at night in the CPC and I didn't have my phone“, writes Shalafov, quoted by bTV.
“I provided all the information and facts I know to the competent authorities. I suppose this answers the call made by the PP co-leaders to give testimony. I assure everyone concerned about the Truth that it will soon come to light, but many of those who ask about it today may not be able to swallow it tomorrow. Because the Truth is as it is, not as we would like it to be“, he also says.
And he adds that he chose to support his colleagues Ivaylo Kukurin and Georgi Todorov, in this very difficult moment for them, because he believes that they are telling the truth.
“On the other hand, I have alerted the PP leadership too many times about some minor irregularities and no one ever reports them to the Control advice. Why would they do it now?“, he asks.
„To calm the passions, I will say that I will not take pictures with anyone and I am not the person accustomed to text messages – „222 Idvai.“ And no, I was not bought and I have not sold myself, because silence can be bought - and I and my colleagues chose not to be silent!“, adds the now independent municipal councilor.
In conclusion, Dimitar Shalyafov thanked for the messages sent to him, with which people from all over the country, including from the PP, support him.
