The entire Executive Council, it is right for you to resign!". This was written on his Facebook profile by Dimitar Shalafov, who resigned as a municipal councilor from the PP group in the SOS.
Shalafov called on Petkov to apologize, since in his opinion this is "manly behavior".
Earlier today, PP co-chair Kiril Petkov resigned from his post in the party, as well as leaving the National Assembly. Two days ago, a scandal broke out in the Sofia Municipality. Mayors and municipal councilors joined the PP group and remained independent. They claim that they were pressured for public procurement. This became clear at a press conference on the topic of “The Political Environment in Sofia - dependencies, corruption pressure and the need for real integrity”. Among them was Shalafov.
Subsequently, the Anti-Corruption Commission entered the Sofia Municipality, and the Deputy Mayor Nikola Barbutov was detained. Today it became clear that two men and two women are facing charges after the Anti-Corruption Commission's action in the Sofia Municipality, NOVA learned.
According to unofficial information, the resigned Deputy Mayor Nikola Barbutov and a municipal employee in the “European Policies” department have been detained for 72 hours. Two women from the “Mladost” district, who were responsible for public procurement, are on bail.
