An incident temporarily closed the Republic Pass to traffic. The accident occurred at around 02:30 on a bend just below the summit, Nova TV reports.
According to initial information, a truck heading towards Veliko Tarnovo dumped its load of auto parts onto a jeep. The driver and his passenger were taken to the emergency room.
The load in the truck was not properly secured and spilled onto the asphalt. According to unofficial information, the truck driver fell asleep, the vehicle overturned, and auto parts spilled onto the vehicle.
Cars are being redirected through the Shipka Pass.
