"The right to protest is fundamental, and maintaining order is an obligation and responsibility". This is what the mayor of Sofia wrote on Facebook regarding the upcoming protests against the euro, planned from tomorrow, June 28, to July 8, BNT reported.
The Sofia Municipality has agreed to hold a protest on "Nezavisimost" Square from June 28 to July 8, between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM, without closing traffic and without building a tent camp, Terziev reports. The decision was made in accordance with the Law on Assemblies, Rallies and Demonstrations, after opinions from all competent institutions.
"The organizers have submitted an application for the construction of a stage on “Nezavisimost“ Square and parking of participants' buses on "Todor Aleksandrov" Blvd. The construction of a tent camp has not been coordinated. Security, maintaining order and caring for the urban environment are the responsibility of the organizers. If necessary, temporary traffic organization can be introduced only at the discretion of the SDVR and the Traffic Police".
Democracy does not mean disorder, the mayor of Sofia also writes and calls on protesters not to disturb other citizens, not to block the city and to maintain order.
