The Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov participated in the charity event "Fair of Kindness" 2025 in the city of Elin Pelin. It is being held for the third time and this year the goal is to purchase devices for easier access for people with limited mobility in the municipality.
„We must all work together for the good of the people. What is happening here is an example of how people, the church and the state can have a common mission and the result can be good and useful for all those in need. Over 280 users per month feel this benefit by visiting the center in Gorna Malina and receive the necessary care“, said Minister Gutsanov.
The charity event in Elin Pelin is part of the activities of the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration “Talents and Innovations“ in the city. The social service provides support to children from 1 to 18 years old and assists the social inclusion of vulnerable Bulgarian citizens who, for various reasons, find themselves in difficult situations and need support. It employs educators, speech therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, art therapists, sports specialists and physiotherapists. The center was implemented under the operational program “Rural Development“ in the city of Elin Pelin and is part of the program “Mercy and Solidarity“ to the “Social Protection“ Fund of the MLSP for the provision of social services together with the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
In March, Minister Gutsanov visited the social service on the Day of Social Work and talked with the social workers, educators, speech therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, art therapists, sports specialists and physiotherapists working there.
Support for the most vulnerable part of society is a priority of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy (MLSP). Last month, 370 million leva were provided under the "Human Resources Development" Program. They guarantee the activity of the newly built social and integrated health and social services for residential care, as well as the services in the buildings renovated under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan (NRSP). Over 2,000 people with permanent disabilities will receive high-tech assistive devices under a MLSP project. Last week, the Ministry also opened a procedure for financing municipal projects for the purchase of 250 electric light trucks that will serve social services.
The charity event in Elin Pelin is part of the activities of the Center for Social Rehabilitation and Integration “Talents and Innovations“ in the city. Its mission is to raise funds for the benefit of society. Last year, the 10,240 leva collected were donated to the Multi-profile Hospital for Active Treatment in the city for the renovation of the children's ward.
