KEWR raised electricity by 2.58% instead of the requested 4.62% - 1

The Chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEWR), Plamen Mladenovski, announced at a media briefing that the initially planned increase of 4.62% in the price of electricity will ultimately not be that much, but only 2.58%.

He emphasized that this new electricity price will be valid from today, July 1, until June 30, 2026, assuring that it will not be changed until then.

Mladenovski also announced what the increase will be for individual electricity distribution companies: For ,,Electrohold’’ it is 1.8%; for EVN it is 3.6%; for ,,Energo-PRO’’ is 2.5%.

In other words, if the average bill is 60 leva, the increase, if you are a client of ,,Electrohold’’, will be 1.08 leva. With EVN it will be 2.16 leva, and with ,,Energo-PRO’’ the increase will be 1.50 leva, comparing the increase in monetary value to Mladenovski.

This average increase of 2.58% is commensurate with inflation and is compensated by the increase in citizens' incomes, the chairman of KEWR noted.

In this way, the commission aims to ensure a smooth transition to a liberalized market, without shocks for household consumers. They must be sure that nothing will change in their bills, he added.
