Dimitar Avramov: The PP-DB coalition is fulfilling GERB's dream - with their message of chaos - 1

The question of whether there is corruption will be answered by criminal law specialists. To me, this corruption scandal sounds like a circle – let's see how we will do something, but we don't know how. This was said in the show "Face to Face" on BTV by political scientist Dimitar Avramov.

The question is why politicians talk in their offices about such things as influence peddling. The big problem is how the coalition for the local elections in Sofia was structured, how the candidacy of the current mayor of Sofia was nominated – opaque, from head to toe, and today this is visible – there is no clear majority, we have a mayor who is not able to cope with what he promised his voters, said Avramov.

This coalition "Continuing Change-Democratic Bulgaria" fulfills the dream of GERB – with their message of chaos, he pointed out.

The political issue is that some people have gathered and are commenting on influence peddling. The problem is that this comes from the party that came with the brightest anti-corruption rhetoric, they had to sweep away everything old and bring in the new, added journalist Alexander Simov.

I have a suspicion that the problem is the personnel, as Kiril Petkov says. This shows a much bigger problem with their ability to do politics. I believe that with his resignation, Kiril Petkov is not trying to set new standards, but is trying to divert the topic from the scandal with "We Continue the Change", Simov noted.

There may be a special operation, but what is heard in the recording looks like corruption and it doesn't matter that it is a special operation. Politicians cannot talk about commissions, talking about such things is an unpolitical act, said Dimitar Avramov.

According to Alexander Simov, the scandal in the Sofia Municipality will lead to the end of "We Continue the Change". In his words, the party is currently in a state of "afterlife". He called the referral to the European Prosecutor's Office by Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev for abuses by the previous management of the waste plant "late" and "very desperate" action.

If Sofia is the showcase of "We continue the change-Democratic Bulgaria", this showcase is like a change bureau from the early 1990s, the journalist emphasized.

There are people in Sofia who work with wishful thinking. They have not had the opportunity to actually take over and govern, noted Dimitar Avramov.

He commented that if there is currently talk of an end to "We continue the change", by the same logic, there was a high probability that GERB "would fall apart 10 times" due to corruption scandals over the years.
