Two men, aged 21 and 43, were detained during an organized protest held today in the central part of Sofia, for hooliganism and aggressive behavior towards law enforcement officers, the Ministry of Interior reported on its website, quoted by BTA.
A check of the police records shows that the older man has multiple criminal records – possession of narcotic substances, theft, driving a vehicle after using drugs, causing moderate bodily harm, hooliganism, destruction and damage to another's property, as well as unlawful seizure of a car, the Ministry of Interior indicated.
During the protest actions, three police officers received various injuries. The injured were provided with appropriate medical assistance and were released for home treatment.
BTA recalls that today supporters of the "Vazrazhdane" party protested in front of the National Assembly. Tension arose when the protesters tried to break through the police cordon. Then the protesters headed to the BNB building, some of them again tried to break through the police cordon at the entrance to the National Assembly. A police officer, who was part of the security of the protest, was transported to the Medical Institute of the Ministry of Interior.
