Two people died in an accident on the Republic Pass, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Stara Zagora announced.
The accident occurred at around 2:20 p.m. yesterday. According to initial information, the accident was between a passenger car driven by a 54-year-old man, who entered the oncoming lane, and a tractor with a semi-trailer attached to it, driven by a 36-year-old man.
The driver of the passenger car and an 81-year-old woman, a passenger in his car, died on the spot. The 36-year-old driver was tested for alcohol and drugs, and the results were negative.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated at the Kazanlak Regional Office. The investigation is under the supervision of the Stara Zagora District Prosecutor's Office.
