Thirteen fires were extinguished by firefighters in Sliven and the region last night, Sliven Mayor Stefan Radev announced on his social media profile. One of the large fires outside Sliven was at Chumerna station in Tvarditsa municipality. The fire has been localized, Mayor Maria Gvozdeykova told BNR. According to her, the fire destroyed lawns and abandoned buildings.
'A former pig sty. It burned down completely, but it was abandoned, I repeat. An abandoned house with a shed, also uninhabited, has burned down. Fruit trees. There were no injuries.
Extremely good organization of "Fire Safety", volunteers, the forest department of the state forest department also got involved."
The fire will be monitored tonight by a team of the fire department and municipal security.
Cars, buses and tires caught fire on private property before the Sliven village of Samuilovo, announced the mayor of Sliven Stefan Radev on his social media page. The fire was brought under control, although the work of firefighters was made more difficult by the strong wind.

There is no danger to the settlements in the area of the fire in Straldzha municipality, announced the regional governor of Yambol Nikolay Kostadinov.
Due to the strong gusts of wind, extinguishing the fire is difficult. A total of nine teams from Yambol and Sredets municipality are participating in extinguishing the fires:
"There is no danger to the settlements, but the fire is extremely dynamic given the fact that the wind is quite strong and makes the fire uncontrollable. There are currently 9 vehicles involved in extinguishing the fire. We are currently near the villages of Malenovo and Palauzovo. The fire is moving along the Mochuritsa River. Dry grass and a vineyard are burning, as well as stubble.
Before that, there was also a fire in the village of Nedyalsko. Forestry officials got involved and helped to localize it.
There were also signals of fires in Straldzha. As a result of a fallen tree and a broken power line, the agricultural cooperative in Straldzha caught fire."
At the moment, there is no need to attract more firefighting teams and an Air Force helicopter, explained Nikolay Kostadinov.
10 villas, some of them abandoned and uninhabited, burned down in a fire in the villa area "Kaptazha" in the Burgas village of Izvorishte.
The fight against the fire, which covered about 100 acres of area, continued for almost 4 hours. The fire is currently localized and there is no danger of it re-igniting. The main version of the fire is human negligence.
